I got up at 6.30 this morning to try and see the eclipse of the moon, but it was cloudy. Should have stayed in New Orleans a little longer because it was impressive.

While at the Back Street Museum I saw a funny picture of a woman at dinner with a mannequin. When I asked about it I was told that it was Antoinette and an effigy of her deceased husband Ernie K-Doe, a self styled emperor of the world. Apparently after he died she carted the mannequin around with her everywhere, even buying glasses of wine for him to drink. Here is the announcement about his death.
Ernest Kador, Jr.?February 22, 1936 - July 5, 2001
We're sad to announce that The Emperor of the World, Ernie K-Doe, Mother-in-Law, the one, the only, the baddest motorscooter and the Greatest Boy-Child ever conceived at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, has passed away. But as his widow Antoinette says, "he's not gone because he left his music with us."
After a bit of research it turns out he is the man that originally sang "Here Come the Girls"

I am sorry, I have been a hopeless blogger and haven't added anything for 2 months.(sorry Lucy and Liza) On top of that I've found that my last post was wrongly named as being in New Orleans so I just had to go there to see for myself. Quite right, I didn't find any dancing, not like that any way, but I found lots more to show so here is one little story. The Backstreet Museum in the Treme district was very photogenic and interesting.[slideshow id=3]
