The Art Class - Inspiration

We looked at some of the materials used by artists and in particular those which are actually manipulated by hand. The work of Eduardo Chillida has an industrial, yet organic quality and the sculptures are often inspired by the concept of interlocking hands.

Rodin’s sketches and watercolours are softly and simply coloured and the drawings of women especially, are relaxed and quite languid.  The concept of the life class or the campaign was a nice follow on, and we moved it forward in time developing the story around the bags and the characters of the young artists. Shot against a white backdrop the single colour outfits are all in sync with the bags.

The models were given characters and under the gaze of the camera were transformed into the class of 2018; Moody, dreamy, focused or bored; skilled, talented, driven or laboured, they are all on the road to somewhere.
