Bag Repair Specialist
Ally Capellino is looking for an experienced Bag Repair Specialist to work with us on an ongoing basis, repairing and restoring our bags with care, precision, and respect for design.
This role is ideal for someone highly skilled, detail-driven, and comfortable working independently, with a deep understanding of materials and construction. It would ideally be based within our shop in Shoreditch but we are open to discussion.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for assessing, repairing, and restoring Ally Capellino bags, including both customer repairs and internal stock. Repairs may include (but are not limited to):
- Stitching and seam repairs
- Zip and strap replacements
- Hardware replacement
- General leather and fabric restoration
- Rewaxing and leather conditioning (TBD)
We expect about 2-6 hours of work per week.
About You
- Proven experience repairing accessories, bags, leather goods, or similar products
- Strong understanding of materials, construction, and longevity
- High attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Reliable, organised, and able to meet agreed timelines
- Comfortable working independently and communicating clearly about repair feasibility and costs
- Confident working with industrial sewing machine
- Calm problem solver
Nice to Have
- Experience working with premium or designer accessories
- Familiarity with waxed cotton, cotton canvas, leather, and mixed-material bags
- Based in London or able to easily receive and return items
