Leather Care Guide

Named after the road Ally Capellino calls home, the Calvert Leather collection is a group of timeless and highly individual bags. 

Vegetable tanned Italian leather, teamed with bridle leather and often a simple raw edge, transforms each bag into a unique accessory over time. Whether you’re looking for tote bags, shoulder bags, crossbody bags Rucksacks and pouches, the Calvert Leather group offers a variety of different shapes and sizes for men and women.

Our signature Calvert Leather group uses an Italian hide that has been washed and oiled to bring out the natural grain and touch of the leather giving a relaxed as well as luxurious look. This leather is strong and resilient and will build up a patina that is individual to each wearer. 

A bit of hide food or leather polish will help to keep it clean and supple. 

Beware of colour transfer from darker leathers onto lighter coloured clothing and vice versa, denim can be a particular enemy.

There is an edge to the bags in the Boundary Leather group. Contrasting colours and sharper corners take 70’s references, but from there is a great leap ahead. The leather firmly holds its shape and is polished and waxed to a luxury sheen. The aged brass fitting is custom made with a smooth face and industrial knurled edges. It locates neatly to close.

For our Boundary leather group we have used luxurious Italian vegetable tanned hides to give the bags the structure and lustre required. To keep this leather looking its best we recommend using a soft cloth and applying a light, even coating of leather cream across the whole bag. The Ally Capellino Navarre Collection is new for the season. The Vegetable tanned leather is named after one of the local streets in Shoreditch. 

The slash takes inspiration from the artist Fontana.

Camlet is a full-grain nappa calf leather. A special hot wax treatment gives the leather a soft buttery hand.
