Provenance & Quality

Our Ally Capellino + British Pasture Leather collaboration

March 17, 2026

For those of us who care about the story behind a product, provenance and process are everything.

Introducing a new collaboration between Ally Capellino, the mother of luxury, functional bag design and British Pasture Leather, innovators pioneering sustainable hide production via regenerative farming methods.

In this new Spring capsule range, launching on March 23rd, three colourways of panelled leather tote bags are offered, with hides sourced from local certified farms who practice regenerative methods - supporting the health of soil, animals, nature and people.

Tanning and finishing complete the leather process, using natural tannins from trees and softened with oils. The bags are then hand constructed in Somerset to Allys refined design specification. Entirely metal and plastic free.

The leather is, of course, beautifully soft, malleable, and ready to evolve developing a patina as unique as its history.

Regenerative Farming - full circle

"I first worked with Sara and Alice back in 2022 when they originally launched their leather products. Im a long time exponent of natural finishes on leathers, the appeal of working with theirs was a no brainer. It means the way you touch and use the bag will be evident in the patina that gradually develops.

I made the first bag myself on a domestic machine. A labour of love that happily resulted in a zig zag stitch on the handles. I wanted the bag to be completely soft, with no metalwork.

"The leather that I received from Sara and Alice comprised some relatively small pieces and so I thought that striped panels could work. Sara has used this bag as a work bag for a couple of years and I feel that the quality and beauty of the leather does it justice.

But this can only come about through regenerative farming - practices that build soil health, avoid chemicals, and increase biodiversity"      Alison Lloyd
