Bobby in Bog is a soft tote composed of British vegetable-tanned leather panels in a beautiful rich dark Brown. The interplay of tones and textures celebrates the material’s natural variation, making each piece subtly one of a kind.

Because the leather is finished without heavy coatings, each bag carries subtle differences in tone and character and will develop a rich patina over time.

The Bobby Tote was produced in a special limited edition of 34 pieces total, using small volumes of leather generated during British Pasture Leather's research and development trials while refining its tanning and finishing processes. 

Made in Somerset, UK.

- Crafted from British vegetable tanned leather
- Handle with zig-zag stitch detail in matching thread
- Embossed Ally Capellino logo at outer top corner
- Fully lined in beige 100% cotton twill for easy finding of belongings

- Internal leather slip pocket: H13 x W16cm
- Handle Width: 3cm; Handle Drop: 15.5cm
- Each bag features a unique stripe layout to minimise material waste

Care

Store in a protective bag and away from other leathers to prevent discolouration. Our naturally finished leathers age beautifully and may transfer at first, especially in warm weather. To reduce this, rub gently with a soft cloth before wearing and avoid light fabrics until the leather settles. Strong and resilient, the leather will develop a unique patina—use a natural leather balm, such as saddle soap, to keep it supple.

Vegetable Tanning

All leather goods at Ally Capellino are vegetable tanned. The process involves a more sustainable approach that uses natural tannins derived from trees, then softening the leather with oils to achieve its supple finish.

The result is leather that is beautifully soft and malleable, designed to evolve over time through light and use, developing a rich patina that is uniquely to each wearer.

As no heaving coatings are used, the natural tones and the grains can be seen. There are no plastics or metals in this Bobby Tote either.
